Root Android Pay won't work on rooted devices

The_Chief

Accept no imitations!
I have a Verizon Note 4 Developer Edition, rooted and ROMmed with a 4.4.4. ROM. I finally got an update to Google Play Services installed so the new Android Pay would work. It replaced my Google Wallet, and then proceeded to let me know that the device wasn't authenticated. Rooted!

So I sadly uninstalled Android Pay and re-installed Wallet. Which DOES work on rooted devices (for the moment).

Granted, I haven't attempted a Root Cloak or anything, but I wanted to let you all know not to get excited about Android Pay if you're rooted.

If you have a rooted Note 4 and have Android Pay running, please let us know how you did it.

Thanks!

Same here Chief. I am using a Nexus 6 that is rooted and romed and am getting the same error message that others get. Oh well.....let's see if Google does anything about this?

So, since the division of Google Wallet into Android Pay, and the update I received, apparently I cannot use Android Pay due to the fact my device is rooted.

Reading around here and there, it's not just device specific.
I've read about folks disabling SuperSu and trying to enter your card again, and while it works for some, it did not work for me.
I also have read about Root Cloak or another Xposed module to hide root, but I have yet to try it.
I'm running 4.4.2, rooted, stock rom, LG G3, Verizon fwiw.

Any other thoughts/discussion?

And if this has been posted elsewhere, I didn't see it, so it can be merged into it if needed :D
Edit: ok, so I found this thread and merged mine into it :D

I also can not get Amdroid Pay to work on my phone. I have done the updates and tried unrooting it, but nothing works. Same message as you. Oh well....................I just uninstalled everything! The heck with it!
