When they say expandable to XYZ, they mean the phone can take that big of a memory card. So if they say the phone has 8 gb of memory and an SD slot expandable to 8 gb, then they mean that you can toss an 8 gb card in the sd slot and have 16 gb of memory total. So a phone with 16 gb internal memory and an sd slot expandable to 32 gb will give you 48 gb total memory on your phone. I'm afraid that's probably as big as you're going to find in a phone.
