Android phones on T-Mobile (like a Droid-x)

Lurker
I want an android phone that is large for my *big* hands. Currently I'm using an HD2 w/ Froyo running from the SD card.
Tired of rebooting honestly and the fact I can't load more of my music on it.

Can't seem to find out if a Droid-x would work on T-Mobile's network. Or that Desire HD, could I get one of those and use it here on T-Mob USA?

If anyone knows that there are big new droid phones coming out soon (next 2 months) please let me know. Also if this is a fruitless exercise, I'm willing to listen.

TIA

You have a few options, but no, the Droid X won't work on TMO as it's a CDMA-based phone.

On T-Mo, there's two 4" Android phones, the Samsung Vibrant and the Google Nexus S. Not quite as large as the X, but still pretty sizable. You could also purchase the unlocked Desire HD, but you'd only get Edge and GPRS, no 3G (or pseudo-4G). I'm not sure if that's a big deal for you.

Your last option is buying the T-Mobile version of the HTC HD2 (a WinMo 6.5 phone), and install Android on it. This would give you everything you want, but it requires some know-how. Also, I don't know how feature-complete the Android port for the HD2 is. I have heard that it's already got a Gingerbread port.

Thanks Medion
I appreciate the clarification about the Droid X and Desire HD.
I can tell you from my own experience the HD2 runs Froyo pretty well. I don't know of any features it's missing right now. The Gingerbread port is coming along, lacks a couple of things I use, like GPS.
Soon...

None of the Droids will work on TMO. They're all CDMA as Droid is a Verizon line of Android devices. Even the global doesn't support US GSM carriers, IIRC.
