It's great and all, but I wish they had not changed the multitask features. Now it's just a plain split-screen view, versus the previous system wherein you can add another screen, switch which one is the bottom/top, or make one app minimized into a smaller window which does not affect activity in other apps. I could wait for another update but I need confirmation if my plea is considered or not. Thank you!

Have you tried talking to Google about this? This is just a user forum, we've no power to implement suggestions or changes to the Android OS.
(You also don't say what device you have. Manufacturers do their own thing, and sometimes they do their own thing and then change to doing Google's thing, so it may make a difference. I don't use that feature much at all, so cannot say whether it changed significantly on my Pixel or not).
