android.process.acore message

I keep getting an error message that says the android.process.acore has stopped working. how do I get rid of this error message? it's a nuisance and keeps me from using my textnow app.

thanks, Cynthia

I've seen this happen for a few reasons with various fixes:

It may happen after disabling an app, usually if you force close it before disabling it. If you've disabled anything, try turning it back on, one by one if you disabled several, until the error is gone.

It can also happen if you use Clean Master or similar apps to uninstall supposedly unnecessary apps. Reinstall such removed apps. Uninstall Clean Master.

Sometimes a contacts sync problem will cause this even after contacts have apparently synced again successfully. Clear the contacts app cache and data, then resync. *Be sure to back contacts up first, just to be safe!*

Facebook can cause this. Clear cache and data, then uninstall/reinstall.

There may well be other causes, but these are ones I've seen (and can remember).

I can't even open the contacts so you are probably correct that that's where the problem is. However, because I can't open the list, I also can't clear the cache unless it appears somewhere else other than the contact list. Does it? I don't use the Droid as a phone just as a small computer so I've never made a call on it and have no particular use for the contacts.

Go to the main system Settings screen (not in the Contacts app) then > Apps > Contacts > Clear cache and Clear data.
