Android samsung prevail low internal storage 8g memory

Hi, i have the Android Samsung Galaxy Prevail and i had a 2G memory card..... kept getting low internal storage error message for basic updates.... as result the updates were failing. I had switched lots of pics, contacts and whatever from my old phone... so i thought it was a justified error. So i went to the store and bought a 8G memory card switched/saved everything i could to that, same problem. Took my 8g out put it in my computer saved everything... put it back in my phone...same error update error. have been through everything looking for a place to free up, switch over or clean... i did a factory reset. Still nothing. What can i do? i want to recive my updates and install games i have a 8g memory plus internal storage. I am out of ideas.

The Prevail has very limited internal memory and several apps can quickly fill you up.

An option is to 'borrow' some of your SDcard space, but there are + and -.
