Apps Android Studio - So confused after update

Pixii

Lurker
I just updated Android Studio to 2.3, and now I am so lost.
I'm actually already new to Android Studio, I've only been playing around with it for about 2 weeks. It's daunting enough as it is for a new user, but the "Create New Project" Wizard was very easy to use.

Now, when I create a New Project, I'm taken to a completely different screen.
I'm asked to choose between Java, Groovy, Griffon, etc
Instead of Empty Project, Blank Project, Login Project, etc

I try to use Java > Groovy
but it asks me to import a Library.. I don't have any of those files or any drop down selections available.

I try to create an Empty Project
Once the project is create, there is nothing in the Project window. Just "External Libraries"
No app > layout > res > drawables, etc

This is so confusing
How do I get the old screen back?
It was so much easier to understand and create a new project.
I have no idea what I did

Hi. Welcome to Android Forums.

I'm sorry to say that I've not yet updated to Android Studio 2.3, although I should. So I can't directly help you by firing up version 2.3, but does this page help? I can see that they've altered the new project creation wizard -

https://developer.android.com/studio/projects/create-project.html

That User Guide is super helpful, thank you!
But, that's the part that I can't seem to access anymore.

Steps 1-5 is what I'm used to seeing, or rather, what I've seen for the past 2 weeks.
And those screens are no longer available to me when I create a New Project.
I'm not sure where they went or how to access them >.<
