why wont m android tablet charge? red x appears instead of lightening bolt. now it is completely dead and not showing that is is chargeing at all

I'll need more info to help you out. Are you using a PC/Mac to try and charge or the Charger that came with the tablet ?
Is the cord going to the tablet unharmed.. not worn or chewed on in any way ?
Is the port your plugging into clean and free of any strange material?
