Help Android tablet won't load Play Store

I have a Digiland DL700D that my son left here. I did a factory data reset, then tried to go to the play store to load some apps. When I click to add an existing gmail account, the next screen is the wifi settings! I've never seen anything like this happen before. (I always had Samsung tablets before)
Any ideas what's wrong?

Can your tablet connect to the Internet?

It says it's saved when I wake it up, then it says 'authentication problem'. It connects but I can't get online.

update: I guess I just had to complain about it. The stupid thing started working on it's own. Thanks

Glad to hear it worked, it could have been a connection issue or Google temporary unavailability.
