android themes - new to android

I'm new to android and curious how i can amp up the look and feel. gmail / google apps are boring - black and white.

how do i change the look and feel for google apps and other environmental areas?

I don't believe you can change the themes used inside an application, unless the developer implemented some onto the app itself. The only "themes" you can adjust freely is the homescreens.

maybe you can get them changed using custom roms..
but on stock rom, not a chance..
