Android tv box remote doesnt function recovery mode

Im trying to install a firmware on my tv box using the toothpick method but when im in recovery mode i cant use the remote it doesnt let me select anything at all please helpp
 
Likely because the recovery doesn't know about the remote, hasn't got the drivers, it's expecting a touch-screen probably, which it hasn't got. Try plugging a USB mouse in or even a USB PC keyboard, that might work.
