Android TV - keyboard layout different

I've got an Android TV box.
There somethings missing that really make it awkward to use.

The return key seems to be missing.
When I press... I get a letter f or something (I forget exactly what).

The keyboard is just a standard PC wired (also tried wireless) keyboard.
Is there a setting change I need to make somewhere?

You should be able to find keyboard options in Settings > Language & Input Method or similar. As I don't know the make, model, and Android version of your particular TV box, I can't say where it would be exactly.
