Help Android TV size too large when on AV

Hi,

I am using a android TV MX box running Kitkat to play XBMC / Kodi. I am very new to all this so please excuse my lack of know how.

When on XBMC the display fills the screen perfectly. As soon as I play any video content the video display becomes far too big and I can only see the top left of the video and a small black horizontal bar at the bottom of the screen. This only occurs when plugged in via the AV cable (yellow red and white). I have tried it with a friends TC using a HD wire and there is no problem.

I have tried video calibration (using the reel icon) which did not help. I have tried to adjust the pixel ratio which makes the image a little smaller but not centered on the screen. This is occuring on all applications that run video and is really quite annoying. I have had a good look through all the forum topics i can find relating to this but I cannot resolove it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Kind Regards

David

Is there any reason you can not use an HDMI cable?

If not have you looked at your resolution settings on the device. If you're not using HDMI it is going to be a little more difficult.

What hardware are you using?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. The TV and Projector I have do not have HDMI ports. The box is called a MX Pro much the same as the other android boxes that have popped up. I can access the Android settings, where do I find the resolution settings? The interface centers perfectly, it only has an issue when video playback resumes.

This is where it gets a little tough, each box seems to have its own way to find the settings. Unfortunately I am not familiar enough with the MX Pro. If this article is unhelpful I apologise in advance.

Have you been able to locate a cog looking icon for your settings? If you're lucky your device will provide basic settings that you can use and find. If not it may be a bit more of a struggle.

See if you can get all the way to the systems settings. From there you can go to Display and update the resolution.
