android TV with RTC battery under USD 40

Hello Folks,

I am working with Minix Neo X5 Mini Android Box which is awesome but costs me about 90 USD after shipping to my country. I explored one more device, MXQ S805 which is about 45 USD after shipping.

Minix devices are awesome! MXQ is also good, but the only problem with this device is that it doesn't have a RTC battery or slot in which I can plug a battery in. So every time I start the device, I have to feed in the date and time. I know that I can automate the process of setting date & time via Settings (network provider date & time) but I often use my device offline and that becomes a problem for me. Has anyone found a way to connect a battery with this box?

If that is not possible, could anyone suggest me an Android device which is as good as Minix or MXQ but costs less than 35-45 USD?

I would really appreciate if anyone could help me out here. I have a project deadline and am stuck with this issue, not to mention, I have limited funds for this project from my project manager :( which is why I am keen on buying a device below 35-45 USD.

This is my first post in this forum, so please forgive me if I have made a mistake somewhere.

Cheers!

Jaydev

Frankly I don't think any of these Android boxes have a battery backed RTC in them, they just assume they're always going to be connected to the Internet when turned on. Probably no easy way to add one.

My Android DLP mini-projector doesn't keep its time when turned off either, but that's usually online when I turn it on, and can synchronise time and date.

Do what I do... When the device is not in use, keep it turned on, but on standby, and plugged into a UPS.
They use such a miniscule amount of power.
