I've been seeing a lot of posts, and threads over the internet about "iPhone apps killing Android apps" I'm really curious. Since this is more an Android phanboy site instead of an iPhanboy site, I doubt I'll get an objective answer, but what the hell...
I've never understood the whole idea that iPhone and iTouch and all that have better apps than the Android OS. I have had the iPhone 1G and 3G for a while, jailbroke them both. And really I have not found ANY apps any good on the iPhone that are through the iTunes store. facebook crashed consistantly on me, and didn't really sync with any other aspect of my phone. Just about every game I came accross was horrible. It seemed/seems(just switched over friday to android), that all these apps are in their infancy, and really aren't any good. Beyond for the apps native to the phone, many of the apps i dloaded from the store were buggy.
getting the "illegal" apps when jailbroken was better, but once jailbroken the iOS seemed extremely unstable, and many of those apps weren't that nice either.
I'm wondering, what are the good apps that kill the Android's?
One of the reasons i switched to Android from iOS was after buying my fiancee a droid for christmass, and helping her with installing apps and such, I really loved the applications, and the integration into the rest of the OS in facebook sync, twitter sync, etc.
To me it's starting to seem like the Android is more open ended, the apps being developed(correct me if 'im wrong) are easier to program(apple's SDK is kind of a pain in the ass, no?
).
Almost open ended as compared to a jailbroken iPhone except, the Android OS actually being stable and meant for open endedness.
Just about every "neccessary" app I've already found for my EVO. And also I have a whole ton of games i like, and will play a lot, btw the free chess is much much better on the android than the iOS...
Tha comes to another point though, I dont like paying for apps, because most of them are pretty damn awfully programmed, I play a lot of the demos, get bored with teh game before the demo is over. So i'm really wondering, where is the true app advantage? when most apps are too earlyi n the game to be decent.
BTW dloaded super ko punch out the other day on evo, very nice. nice i dont have to swith to WiFI to dload an app over 10mb!!
or is it 20mb?
I know angy birds is supposed to be one of iPhone's best, but if this is true, that's pretty damn sad. It's enjoyable, but reminds me of a flash game from 2000?
