Android vs iPhone Survey!!

Lurker
Hey fellow Androiders,

I'm a student at the University of Washington and I'm doing a little iPhone vs. Droid market research and I could totally use some more respondents to get some good data.

If you have an opinion on these phones, feel free to express yourself!!

Right now there are a lot of iPhoners...need more Android users!

Qualtrics is an online market research tool, its legit if u google it! I dunno if I'm allowed to post links on a new account but its for school

I sure do hope your professor doesn't know about mobile phones since you lumped Android with every Android phone. I understand this is a generalization, but there is bad Android hardware and good Android hardware. I think for this survey to be effective, you must only distinguish between software and not hardware.

EDIT: Also, when asking for cell phone usage, going from once a week to 2-3 times a week skips out on 4-5 days that a person could use something on their phone. I know I am nitpicking, but professors notice these things. Just trying to get you an A.

EDIT2: Holy **** my computer science prof has gotten to me with these details things.

I can see a bit of bias result coming out because i'd say a higher percentage of android users have used an iPhone extensively enough to have a rounded perspective on the questions, whereas i reckon a lot of iPhone users will have never seen or used one.

Done.

But yes, there is a problem lumping all the Android phones together. I have a HTC Tattoo that I am neutral / satisfied with, as its specifications aren't so great (only recognised this a couple of months after purchase). But I love Android much more.

I understand the survey needs to add them all together for the questions, but it might have been an idea to add a question that asks the person taking the questionaire to add what phone they have.

Also, have you done any qualitative research? (before this quant)
Its the quotes from users that will really add to your report and bring it to life, use quotes to illustrate and sum up your findings. If you have't it might be good to start a thread here that asks people to tell you what they love / hate about Android and their phone etc and do a similar thing in an iPhone forum.

EDIT - GOOD LUCK!!

Survey done.

Is it just me or did it seem like an iphone fishing exercise? All the question led to 'if the iphone did this would you buy one?'

No questions on what was wanted to make you buy a droid.

Hah! I thought someone else might have picked up on that. This is what my marketing professor from college would call a 'leading survey'. One that is 'supposed' to look impartial but really is slanted one way.

If this was supposed to be a true "Android vs Iphone survey" then I really hope the OP isn't the one who came up with the questions as they will get some very skewed results and invalid conclusions.

Or maybe it is because the Android already had all that and the author wanted to see if it was just the features the user was looking for. :3

Thanks everyone who took the survey! We got a lot more android users and it's about 50/50 now! We're getting really good solid results from this survey.

Also thanks for all the critiques!

This project will be done by this Thursday, so I will be sure to post our results!

Thanks again all!
