Apps Android vs. Windows Mobile

Hi All dear developers.

I'm a C++ windows application developer. I like to shift myself to linux development and therefore android!

I've just bought an hTC Touch Diamond 2. Application development for this PocketPC is not so pleasant. I thought maybe I could replace it's operating system (Windows Mobile 6.1) with Android 2.0.

Is it possible ?

I don't know about Android 2.0 as I haven't seen that released yet, but there is someone working on an Android port to your phone. Here's the thread at xda developers.
