Android wont add music

My music is on the sd card and only 4 albums shows up. I used 3 diff music players and scanned in one of them for new media and nothing. i searched google and cant get an awnser as to why it will not add my music. its acting like its not even on my sd card.

i dont think any of that matters. albums randomly deiced to work or not. i added 50 albums, only 12 worked. i took them 12 off and put 5 that didnt work on and they worked. i dont understand the problem. iv used windows media player to sync music and still getting the same problem.

Codecs matter. Your phone may not have the ability to play all codecs. For instance, what if some of your music was in lossless FLAC, it wont be able to play without a particular player that can play FLAC (all of those I know are paid).

none of these files are lossloss. they are all mp3s. like i said before, albums decided to show up randomly. for example. mercyful fate ep. it was on my phone. i deleted all my music and upon reysyning. now it isnt showing up... even though it is on the sd card.

by app do you mean music app on my phone? both the default android player and ubermusic. same results in both. ubermusic even has a scan feature... doesnt do anything though.

i was dragging and dropping the music on the root of my phone in the folder /music.
that has horrible results. now im using windows media player to sync. better results but still, many albums will just not appear correctly. i just put 3 new albums on my phone. 2 did not work, and the 3rd was the merycful fate ep. i re-synced the album. now its on my phone..

this makes no sense to me. ugh

Horrible results as in... no albums appear in music player, etc. anyway, i think i figured it out. unmounting and remounting my sd card on my phone seems to be helping.

It absolutely does matter. We are trying to help, step one of that is trying to figure out what kind of music you have and where it came from. This will let us rule out the actual music itself is the problem.

Windows Media Player normally converts everything to wma before syncing, this could be a problem as android cant play wma files.

You could just have a bad sd card. Try taking it out and putting it directly into a card reader on your computer, then run a scan on it to see if any errors come up.
