Welcome to Android Forums!

The short answer is that you probably can't. Here's the long answer:

Many older phones, especially those running Froyo and Gingerbread, have hardware limitations that prevent them from running newer versions of Android... there is not enough memory, the processor is too slow, etc. So unless you have rooted your device and can find a custom Ice Cream Sandwich ROM (which would have very basic ICS functionality), you will likely need a newer phone to get Android 4.0.

The chances of the manufacturer pushing out 4.0 to your device is remote. I wish I had better news for you :o

It's great to have you here :)

On the upside, Google has moved most of the most interesting updates out of the operating system to apps so you're probably not missing out on as much as you'd think :D
