But your title reads other wise.

I guess m'soft was never open source.

I agree that Android is going to do extremely well ... but it sure doesn't have anything in common with Microsoft. (Let's hope not, anyway, since M$ just had to scrap their mobile platform and start over.) If open source always won, we'd all be running Linux boxes now, and Microsoft would have gone under years ago.
 
yeah, i don't get the MS reference in the title. Is MS open sores as well? (yes, the pun was on purpose ok?)

And btw, as far as "winning", not long ago Apple WAS winning, and just before that, Blackberry was, I don't think they're open source.
 
MS scraping its mobile platform and starting over again was a wise & courageous decision on their part.

Open source will win but on the enterprise level.
 
I think the microsoft part is because in the beginning, Microsoft just sells OS to whoever wants to build a PC using their OSs. They win big in the end because their DOS is so addictive. Then they began to build Windows and evil has been ruling your life since the 90s :P
