Help Animated Emoticons wont animate in text message

How do I get animated emoticons to animate in a text message. When I open the file in Gallery, they animate, but when I text the emoticon, it is just an image not moving in the text message.

Emoticons (emoji) are rendered on the device so even though you can view an animated emoji, it doesn't mean that's what the recipient is going to see if they don't have the same library of images.

Thank you,
I understand what you are saying as far as static images go, but Im talking about animated emoticons. You can download them individually or copy and paste them free from many web sites. They are an option on forums. I guess forums are different than SMS texting.

If I understand your question, why not use normal emoji or nothing at all for a message? It isn't important..? I wouldn't say you can do that though.

Yes ... forums will place a link back to the emoji you select in whatever library you are using, in an SMS message the recipient must not only have the emoji library installed, them must have the SAME library as the sender for the emojis to be displayed in the same way. An alternate solution might be to actually send an emoji file, but that would be an attachment and come through as an MMS message.

Thank you for your replies. I appologize if my question wasn't clearer. Let me ask it differently and I appreciate your bearing with my lack of savy.

I go to this site:

If you click on the animated omoticon, it says copy this emoticon and post it in your SMS text message. I do that but the recipient does not see animation. Just a static image. How do I make this work.
Thank you

I use hangouts for SMS and when I copied and pasted one of the animated gif's it didn't animate. I sent it to my wife and it was a still image there, too. However, when I saved the gif to my phone first and then attached it, it worked. Give that a try. :)
