New to Moto Z2. There is a far left screen. Some type of news feed that cannot be shut off or deleted. Suggestions? Thanks

Use a different launcher (Nova is my default) rather than the built-in one and you won't have this stuff.
Yeah, probably Google Now cards. If you don't want that, it is pretty annoying. Nova Launcher will take care of that for you. 
I've used Nova Launcher Prime for many years. I've played with others. I always come back to Nova Launcher Prime.
(It does not have that annoying far left page.)
