Root Annoying Problem while rooting

I've had OTA GB for about a month, maybe 2 months now and have been busy and haven't had time to root. I did my research and dl'ed Motorola One Click Root, that worked, but my phone is still not rooted. Dl'ed Pete's Moto Root Tools, and when it does step 1, reboots but it gets stuck on the black screen that says "Bootloader D2.37, Battery OK, OK to Program, Transfer Mode:USB" And it just stays....until I pull the battery and reboot and nothing has changed. I've even tried the XP version and when I do that it just says Server Not Running, but the screen on the phone says the same thing. Pretty annoying, not sure what's going on here. Thoughts?
 
I've done Pete's Moto Root Tools on XP and Windows 7. It can be done. If you keep failing you might want to SBF back to stock and update to the OTA GB and try again. It should work.
