Help Another issue with kies

I've seen another topic with a similar title, but rest assured, this is a different issue.

I just installed Kies for my samsung galaxy ace. So far so good - It lets me know there's a firmware upgrade. I read through the instructions and follow them to the letter, to the point where my phone is the only device plugged into my laptop. It starts the update aaand...

"Failed to run firmware upgrade. Unknown error occured"

and then the program acts as if I pulled the cable out and then plugged it in again - my computer's offering to open the files and it lets me know there's a firmware upgrade again. Any ideas?

Try to free some space on your Windows OS drive.
