Another OTT box !

Like the others, I am a newcomer. The manual isn't very in-depth so I need help with two queries. I can click on the Home icon and get the list of all the channels but I can't find the list of which program is currently showing on the tv. At the moment I click on Quest for example, see whats on, then I have to return to the list of channels and scroll up or down to find another channel, click on it, no don't want it, then return and keep repeating the action. The other query is how to get rid of the message ' swipe down from the top to exit full screen' and underneath is a box saying 'ok'. Help please!

No it's not a Kodi. All it says on the tv screen when I switch it on is MX. I don't how this message has appeared because it wasn't on it last week when I bought the box and installed it originally. My mouse for both my tower pc and laptop are wireless, will have to buy a USB one. I don't want to exit full screen, I am happy with the picture as it is! I just want to get rid of the message.

KODI is an app installed on Android TV boxes.

Your wireless mouses (mice?) are USB and will work on your Android TV box.
There's no need to buy a mouse with a cable.

I think you need the hands-on help of a good friend as you have only a very basic understanding of your devices.

We are both Pensioners with LIMITED knowledge of Hi-Tech stuff. I also have a husband who suffers from BFS. Big Finger Syndrome. I would appreciate any help you can give us. He has just switched it on after we've been out all day. I will go into the bedroom a bit later and see if my Mice will work! (When he is not around). Thanks Andrew

We'll do what we can to get you back on track...

What is the actual name of the box that you have?

Your mouse(s) will have a tiny USB receiver plugged into your computer(s) so the mouse and the computer can talk to each other without a cable.
It looks like this...

Take the USB 'dongle' out of one of the computers and plug it into the Android TV box.
The mouse should work right away.

When you are done just take the mouse and the USB 'dongle' back to the original computer that you 'borrowed' it from.

That IS my Logitech ! And brilliant Andrew, a cursor appeared and I was able to click on the message and it has gone. You really are a clever blighter! Just one more question : is there a setting anywhere which tells me what programs are currently showing ? My Sky remote has got a button for TV Guide, click on it, click on OK and up pops all the Channel names with whatever is on for the next few hours or even 24hrs ahead, does this remote have the same function anywhere? Thank you again.

...is there a setting anywhere which tells me what programs are currently showing?

Do you mean TV programs (TV Guide) or apps (programs) running on your device?

Also: If you ever need your mouse back in an emergency, you can activate the one on your Android TV box.
Just click on the little button with a picture of a mouse on it.
Then use the arrows and OK button to control it.

It's very slow and cumbersome but it'll work in an emergency!
Don't forget to press the button again when you want the normal control back.
(I'm always forgetting to press the button to do that!) :(

Just to let you know I failed completely with both my Android TV boxes. I have now gone to Sky Q and - yippee! - have got tv in my bedroom ! All I ever wanted.
