Another plus for AT&T

Android central is reporting Verizon is cutting their return policy to 14 days from 30. What are they thinking. Thank God I'm with AT&T and thank God I buy my phones at best buy

As long as at&t doesn't do this I'm cool.

14 days? bs..

They are trying to sell more insurance I bet..

Ya know what if AT&T was stupid enough to do it. I would just continue my trend of buying phones at best buy. I find the whole experience there is much more simple and there return policy and now buy back policy far exceeds the carrier stores anyway

How is it buying phones at Best Buy? I always just get them through AT&T mainly because I thought if you buy them through other parties, you must abide by other rules (such as upgrade eligibility, required additions to your contract like data plan size or text messaging plan). That, and a FAN discount, always made me go to AT&T but I enjoyed the fact that Best Buy you do not have to worry about any rebates.

That insurance stuff is such crap too. I remember they tried to pass off Apple Care as insurance and made many false claims about it. They was interesting talking to higher ups at AT&T about that instance.

But don't you have to pay an additional fee for the buyback policy? After working there years ago part time, I know the sketchy dealings they do and how I never like to purchase products from them.

For the buy back its a one time 59.99 it gets added to your account. Then you get 50% of what your phone is worth for the first year I believe then 40 etc

Also I love buying phones at best buy. Every exchange gives you 30 new days. Around holiday time that's extended further. Also there protection plan is great if you like. Then theres the option of using your best buy card I always do because I always get 18 months no interest and I pay my phone off

I am personally disgusted with the way companies handle it altogether.

When I worked at radioshack, I used to get so angry with my co workers for calling an extended protection plan insurance on prepaid phones :/

I am just clumsy.. but, I hate that there isn't any fair way to protect my 500$ + investment.

I thought insurance was suppose to be like 7$ or so a month for capt..

Now i'm hearing some bs about a one time fee of 150$ :/

Not worth it to me. You can get a lot more than that if you sell it on craigslist (which is what I will do with the Atrix if something better is announced with 4G LTE before my contract is up).

Their protection plan is worse than crap. The amount of bad stories I have dealt with with various customers would surprise you. I never would buy any protection plan for any device, but that is just me.

...and everything that is covered is traditionally covered under your manufacture warranty and the way your phone is going to break will not be covered.

Well I don't use either but the options are there. I sell my phones on gazelle.com

SOOOO TRUE.

"your covered if something happens"

becomes.

them "when we said your covered if it falls we didn't mean off a ladder"

me "but, I specifically asked the rep about that"

them "well.. they misread.. they meant it can fall up to 20 inches not 20 feet.."

I actually found the Best Buy experience to be a pain, but then it was Dec 23rd. I have bought my last 4 devices from wirefly & amazon, returned 2 of them (one to Amazon and swapped one at at&t that was bought from wirefly). I found the online experience to be so much cheaper, easier and better.

With Best Buy, I actually bought the device on-line with "in store pickup". That was a huge mistake, but it started well. The on-line order process was good, about an hour later I got an email notifying me that my device was ready for pick-up.

When I get to the store, I show the guy at the door my papers, he sends me to the "In-Store pickup at customer service. After waiting in line for 30 minutes, I am told "oh, we don't do phones, you need to go to our mobile section". I get there and it is a zoo, but after about 10 minutes someone starts to help me. I expected they would give me the box and I would be gone, it was already paid for, etc. But no, they wanted to sell me everything in the world and activate the device in the store rather than let me do it at home, etc. 90 minutes later, I finally got out of the store with my new device.

I will stick to on-line purchases with free home delivery in the future :D

Yeah Wirefly does it so much faster and easier. If you buy the phone online before 6pm it ships the same day so you get it the next day. They always have good prices and ive found cheaper than Amazon and best buy on most occassions. I also visit retailmenot dot com and they always seem to have good coupons for Wirefly to get a free bluetooth, or a memory card of some sort. Cant beat next day! and do your own research the people in stores are there to make a commission so they'll frame insurance in anyway that looks favorable to you and wont give you the true ins and outs. smh.
