Help Answering calls on the speaker?

Hi, I have just bought the dell streak and I am very pleased with the phone I have had an android phone since the G1 first came out so I am pretty familiar with the software. I moved up to a Dell Streak to get the larger screen as I use it more as a pocket computer than a phone, however I do use it as a phone sometimes and I am finding it annoying whenever I receive or make a call it always starts on the speaker, which can be very embarrassing in the office or in public.
Does anybody know how I change the settings so that a call automatically starts on the handset earpiece not on the speaker?

Mine is completely opposite, you can hear the call, but until you press the speaker button it isn't that loud.
