Help Antivirus apps......

Lookout or Webroot SecureAnywhere are supposed to be good.

Personally I don't use one, but SecureAnywhere seems like a really comprehensive one.

I'd use Avast. I think it is the most comprehensive of any of them. Of course, I don't use one since a little common sense can keep you from having any issues.

I don't use one either. Being cautious about what your doing is my anti virus :)

I use Kaspersky on my pc though

Download apps from GPlay only. Be wary of the permissions when you do (like how a flashlight app has no need to access SMS). And you'll generally be fine.

The vast majority of the Android malware exists in third party app stores and in warez (pirated software). Google constantly hunts for illegitimate apps and malware on GPlay. So, while not being a walled garden like the Apple App Store, it's far more secure than other app stores.

No, but that doesn't mean click and download whatever's on the web

Download apps from legitimate places and you will be malware free

No point running one. Android is sandboxed. Nothing can run without your permission. The worst way to get is side loading. .. and once you've allowed it, its too late the damage is done. These av apps don't seem to update their definitions very often so my bet is any new threat is going undetected...

I did have lookout for tracking but samsung dive does more for free. I'm one of those lucky gsm users whose carrier didn't disable this feature
