looking for some apps which can switch profiles, e.g. mute or turn up ringtone based on different hrs of the day. any recommendation? thanks

Locale will charge 10 bucks? damn, but it does look quite thoughtful to cover all possible condition and all possible behavior of phone. Timerrific seems quite satisfying to me for now, i will have it try. if necessary, locale will be my choice.

If all you need is time-based changes, Timeriffic should be fine. But I'd buy Setting Profiles twice before I'd pay $9.99 for Locale. lol

I had a few trying last night for Timerrific, honestly, time-based condition seems really not good enough for my daily usage. Thanks for your suggestion, seems Setting Profiles is pretty good, besides it has some lite version i can taste a little bit b4 paying, awesome. thank you, karma.

Is there one that will override the vibrate/silent times for specific contacts?

I to am looking for an app like this. Do any allow you to set profiles for each day of the week individually? My current work week is from thursday to monday and it would be convienent to not have to worry if I remembered to put my phone on silent.

Thanks.

yes, Setting Profiles. it will let you pick from location, time of day, calendar entry etc.. its extremely flexible and it has a free version so you can use it with the basic set of features plus the pay version is quite a bit cheaper then some of the alternatives plus at least in my experience it dosent excessively drain the battery like locale does.

i found that the location it found quickly, and accurately each time i tried to have it change settings by location and overall has been working very well for me.

Geee, Google must be doing a lot of banning all those people who do not search for anything on their own now just ask about every single little thing. Why not just go to Market search for Porfiles and try a few apps? Is it really that hard?

I agree with that. but, believe or not, i did "google it" from market and google. but I also do believe review from users are practical, sharing with other's experience u had may save some rookies like me from being lost in such huge market, not even mention about time we spent. or, why do we bother have some discussion forum like this? dont u think. Thanks for your advice, we will do search homework, be prepared, then ask the question.

If all you want is time, Timerrific is likely perfect. I used Locale a few months ago (when it was still free, apparently) and it did a ton more than just time-based profiles. Kind of like killing a fly with a hand grenade. :)

If you do end up going there, you'll probably like all of the other features it carries and end up using them, though.

Thanks I have looked at Setting Profiles and installed the light version, however I need at least 2 rules to cover my work week. $4 seems more than reasonable for the full version, however I can not find the Android Apps Store, maybe you know some other reputable sources to obtain the full version? I went to the developers site and he has a link to SlideMe.org would that be a safe source?
