The Play Store on the phone - stay on the app page to get the X during download/install.
The Amazon app store on your phone has an X during download, then a cancel option before the install.

I prefer using the laptop. I can read everything easier. I do read TOS, reviews, and any info before even considering installing. I do keep the user agent on browser as desktop. Mobile omits too much fine print for my taste.
But a 14" diagonal screen on laptop is even easier to read.
