Any chance of these things coming back after 4.4.2?

I am struggling with the not being able to write to the SD card issue. I have two things I use that for exclusively, one being my camera to store my pictures and the other being an app called notepad. I simply don't want to use internal phone memory for these. What are the chances we get the SD card thing back? The slide to cancel alarm. I use my phone as my primary alarm clock, and on more than one occasion so far I have just about dropped the phone to figure out how to make it stop. One just doesn't function well when being awakened from a deep sleep.. 3. The slide to answer. I received my first call this morning since update, and it must have been about 20 seconds before I figured out that I had to slide to answer.. wtf..

You seem to be asking three questions.

I am using a Droid Maxx under 4.4 ... so I can not directly verify it for you. Why does anyone use the slide to unlock feature? Anybody who has the phone can operate the slide and it is unlocked. I go to Settings | Security & Screen Lock and chose None.

Factory Data Reset will not take you back to the previous version. It was a move that they made a few years ago to reduce the number of versions that they had to pay people to maintain. The really encourage people to go to the new versions.

I recommend a Factory Data Rest after any major system upgrade. There are apps that ran under the previous version that will not run (yet) under the newer version.

I do protect my phone with a pattern. What I'm talking about I the circle that pops up when receiving a call. If I remember right, the old way to answer an incoming call was to tap the center phone icon, and then the one at the 9 o'clock position. Now I have to slide from that center icon to 9 o'clock.. The alarm deactivation is similar. There is an eye in the 9 o'clock position to deactivate the alarm, and then in the 3 o'clock position is the snooze. The functions are the same as in answering calls..you have to slide from the center to either side.

As far as the SD card, it could be your file manager. I know Gallary does seem to show files saved to the card. The default camera app does too. I just installed File Manager from Cheetah Mobile and can access the SD card fine but my old manager doesn't.
