Any Decent Alternatives to GoodReader?

Sisee

i recently invested in an Android tablet, to replace my iPad.
One of the many uses I have for my iPad is linked to the advance functions of GoodReader.
Specificaly the ability to download, upload and open PDF, image and test files from my Mac, which is set up to share specific folders.
GoodReader has a built in system allowing access to various online servers, as well as local servers.
I've tried about 10 different PDF readers on Android, and none of them are capable of accessing files on a local server.
My Mac is set to allow access via both AFP and SMB.
I understand that AFP may be impossible, due to it being an Apple only protocol.
But, surely there's a PDF reader that can access SMB servers.
If anone knows of such an app, could I be informed of it.
I don't deny that there are some decent PDF readers available, but none of the ones I've tried allow access to local servers.
They all only access online storage. Which I don't want.

I don't know of any PDF Readers that do that. However what you could do is use a File Manager with SMB support (such as ES File Explorer) to navigate to your SMB share and open the file through it into whatever PDF reader you set as your default.
