is there any dev that could help in finding an exploit to root the asus transformer prime? they havent released an exploit at xda. all previous exploits were already patched by asus. i also read a post saying that the devs at xda dont want to release any new exploits because asus will patch it with in a day. right now the only way to root is to unlock the bootloader but that will void warranty. and the section for this device on this forum is dead lol so thats why i posted here because i know theres alot of smart people here. so any one here can find an exploit?

I know for both iPhone and HTC there's a hardware exploit that unlocks bootloader without losing warranty :) if i remember correctly they might have had one for asus. Let me double check and I will holler back

Not sure if it changed, but i'm pretty sure that rooting any tablet or game system is still illegal...you will most likely void any warranty FYI

i dont think its illegal since its an open source. fyi you can unroot but you cant restore bootloader. its like saying its illegal for you to be an administrator on windows and it will void the warranty on your pc.

its not illegal, and they are right to not root it. with a locked bootloader you are fighting a losing battle. every exploit that gets closed up means one less exploit to use in teh future. at leats they provide you a tool to do it. moto doesnt do anything of the sort

but most people use ota root keeper. and restore after update and they get root back. i dont know why ausus isnt like samsung who doesnt care if we root or not. i cant even use my phones internet on the tablet..

samsung cares a whole lot, they just know its so far in their best interest to keep them open. but they have since introduced binary counters to detect custom kernels and how many times youve flashed.

the ota root keeper works great im sure, but if that the best idea then how come eveyrone isnt rooted on teh latest ota?. I dont understand why people refuse to use the official unlock tools, htc's allows custom recoveries, kernels and roms... what more could you need? sure your warranty is voided but teh odds of you sending your tab in are very low

but cant you reset the counter with the usb jig?

most of us updated our tablets as soon as we got them before reading and not knowing asus had blocked them. for me its too soon to unlock because we dont know if there can be harware failure. for one the wifi signal is weak. gps also sucks but asus is giving out a dongle. other people are getting craked screens. if i ever unlock it it would be when my warranty is almost over. lol

I did check into the hardware exploits. I was incorrect, there wasn't one for asus there. My interest is piqued so I will research this
