Any former Motorola Moto x Pure 2015 users here?

Looking at possible upgrade from my Motorola Moto x pure, which I love. It's just gotten a little slow, and I need more RAM, and longer battery life.

Any thoughts on that?
Thanks.

Yup... jumped ship on my MXPE a few months ago.

I love this device, wouldn't really call it much of an "upgrade", more of a lateral move where some things are traded off for others that are more fitting to my usage, making an upgrade for me but it might not be for others depending on what your looking for.

Pros: Performance is better as the 625 seems to outperform the 808 with much less heat. The 4GB of ram only makes a noticeable difference in multitasking, but I can swap lots of tasks back and forth without an app restarting. And the battery life... WOW... I easily get 2-3 times the battery life of my MXPE when it was new! 6 hours of SOT over an 18 hour day is the norm with every service active (WiFi, BT, precise location with tracking etc) and 8-9 hours SOT is doable with some minor tweaking, or you can easily go 2+ days with the same usage my MXPE would only go one day (if that) on a single charge. The fingerprint sensor is amazing and super fast. Runs cold as ice... you can go though a 2 hour gaming session while Turbo charging and barely be able to tell if it's actually starting to feel warmer or not (this might not sound important, but it goes go maintaining battery longevity, a real issue with the MXPE but in the real world only time will tell if this is true or not)

Cons: The cameras are not as good and are inconsistent, but they are acceptable for average use. The sound is pathetic out of the loudspeaker and headphone jack is marginal at best (in a quiet office with one earbud in, it's OK, out for a walk/run is questionable), so I would recommend Bluetooth headphones if you listen to music a lot. There is no NFC (eh, doesn't bother me at all).

Other: I don't know if this is good or bad... To me it was better because I though the MXPE was just a little too big, but the screen is the big difference. The 5.2" full HD screen is very good although noticeably smaller... easily viewable even in direct sunlight and extremely clear, however the lower PPI and resolution is noticeable. In the hand it feels smaller and lighter, but if hold them together the MXPE doesn't seem much larger.

All in all, I love my Moto G5+ and for the current prices of the 4/64GB units at $225-$250 it's a great bargain and I would get one again in a heartbeat.

I can't reiterate the battery life comparison enough... on my MXPE I was charging at least once, maybe twice, during a "normal" day and when traveling I was basically charging anytime I had a 30+ minutes in an airport/lobby/etc to make it through the day. I can't think of a time since I got this I had to charge mid-day... Even a full day of airline travel from Bismarck to Minneapolis to Detroit to Orlando (11:00am to 11:00pm basically) of very heavy use with airplane mode enabled quite a bit, and I didn't have to charge at all until bedtime, although by midnight it was in Battery Saver mode (5% or less).

Wow.
Thanks for the report. As battery life is my biggest headache with the MXPE, I may join you in getting a G5+.

OK! you guys have emboldened me! I am going to get the G5+!
I saw some mentions of the 4GB ram model being available for $229, but some of the dealers look sketchy, and I don't want to inadvertently get a knockoff. Any recommendations?

A question? I think my grandma (bless her soul) is going to get her stolen Samsung Galaxy S8 replaced by the G5+ as well. I have never had a phone stolen, so if she is on sprint, how would she get her phone number ported to the new phone, without having the old one physically?

Thanks! I'll post news when the phones come in. you guys rock.

Just contact the carrier (which you should have done already to inform them of the theft) and have the number moved to a new SIM card, insert in new phone and go.

Make sure to change all account passwords as well.
