Any good signal boosters out there for VM?

I am using a Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE and I am kind of out in the sticks.. just sitting here I have about 2 to 3 bars, but the second someone calls, it immediately drops down to 1 or 0 bars, i dont get it! i downloaded an app that has a 4 star rating called "Boos Signal" and the icon is a satellite::

i havent received any calls yet to see if it's any good, but i hope so.... are there any other tips for a SUPER n00b to get better reception on the VM network? i took my phone out of its case, removed some widgets that i thought might be using up my signal during calls.. everything! i have yet to get a call since doing this, but i hope it does something because it starts out breaking up and then just drops my call altogether.

Unless you want to solder a bigger antenna onto the back of your phone, there really isn't any legitimate way to increase your signal. The only thing those apps do, if anything, is turn airplane mode off and on again quickly. That forces your phone to reconnect to the nearest tower and can help improve signal, but only if you aren't already connected to the tower with the strongest signal to you already.
