Can I purchase any non-verizon phone (no verizon bloatware) that I can activate on Verizon?

Not every phone will work with Verizon, it must have CDMA (which some don't have) and be compatible with Verizon.

Unlocked phones from the manufacturer like Google Pixel, Moto G5 Plus, Galaxy S8/S7 and some others will work, but not all.

I have not used a Verizon branded phone in years. Mostly used Moto's but now have an Essential. As @kate said just be sure to check it first.

Heh, I'll be in the same boat you are come May/June when my contract is up. I'm seriously looking into getting an unlocked device without the Verizon crap too.
Kinda looking at the V30 but need to do more research.

Any particular device you are looking to purchase?

I had a Moto G4 plus earlier this year to tinker with. (got a fantastic deal on it so I bought it to root etc). Nice device! Sold it....wish I hadn't

The G's are really nice, one of the peeps on my plan has one. I really like the various X's I had, honestly can't complain about Moto at all.
