any opinion on these android TV boxes?

after a long hard search on android TV boxes (not wanting the nexus player because theres no gigabit ethernet and i do not trust ASUS products after getting burned twice on a $600 tablet and twice on a 1080P LCD screen, and the common MXIII and M8 labeled boxes are only opengl 2.0 8-core mali 450 GPUs, ive managed to find these below (budget around $75)

they are off branded, but the specs all seem to be the same on them.. 1.8ghz cortex A17 processors, quad more mali T-764 (OpenGL ES 3.1) GPUs, with 2 gigs of RAM and gigabit ethernet.. so what do you guys think? would you buy something off-brand likely shipped from asia with better hardware specs, and trust you will actually receive what you pay for, or get something of lesser performance for more money to stick with something a bit more reputable?

I also have an M8 and agree with Bazzaboy79 its a great box and great price too. Does everything you need with ease.

Looking at the links there much the same to be honest they will all do the same job. Just like the M8 as its a nice small slick unit with built in WiFi. Good starter box.

my main concern though is these boxes being off brand manufacturers quite likely shipped from china.. wont really have a warranty or chance to return them and could be a great way to get screwed over.. problem with "M8" boxes is the 8-core mali 450 only has opengl 2.0, the T764 has opengl 3.0 so it will likely render things better and more efficiently, so better for gaming

also, gigabit ethernet is good because i was planning to set one up for game streaming over my home network.. however, upon closer consideration of that open im not entirely confident that in-home game streaming is a good idea, not when i could just purchase a 25' HDMI and USB cable to connect my bedroom PC directly to a living room TV

Well it seems you have made your mind up on not getting the m8 and it looks to me as if you have done plenty of research on what to get so whatever you want to buy just buy it, iv said the m8 is fine for me and whatever i use it for

i may be using it for some light gaming and game streaming so that extra graphics capability will be beneficial for what i need, my concern isnt so much if the specs are any good, but if the sellers, if buying a nameless brand off amazon can be trusted

Its always a risk buying off eBay and amazon (not so much from amazon) I felt the same way when I first bought an M8, I have since purchased many from different suppliers for friends and family and never received a bad unit. Sometimes delivery times can be a bit of a wait but its all clearly explained when you buy. I mainly use amazon to be honest. Just dive in and buy one mate you can research forever you might as well be enjoying your new IPTV,

I have an M8S box and it's quite nippy. It's the version with the 2GHz Amlogic S812 CPU, Mali-450 MP6 GPU (8 cores) along with 2GB RAM. Wi-Fi is ok compared to most of the other Chinese boxes I've come across, but still not what I'd call great.... Ideally you'd want the wireless router in the same room.
