Any pros/cons to getting unlocked vs t-mobile phone?

Looking at Samsung 3 or maybe LG G2. Any benefits or negative with going tmo over unlocked? WiFi calling with t-mobile phone I assume , I heard if att you can get Hotspot root (don't use Hotspot though). Will LTE work with either if lte phone?

That one doesn't have lte at all, advantages of the tmoblie, lte, more ram wifi calliing ....and after awhile you can unlockit and ditch tmobile.

Well I have metro so I wouldn't ditch tmo lol I think I will look for a t-mobile phone then =)
