any really useful battery life enhancing apps

Hi,
Are there some really good android cell phone battery life enhancing apps out there? I have tried a few, but they are not really what they claim to be.

So called battery savers generally make battery life worse. Rogue apps that kill battery should be removed or disabled. Installing an app to kill them only makes the problem worse.

Rather than an app that as stated will likely make things worse, all you need is some intelligent device management. Keep the brightness down, screen timeout set to the minimum acceptable time, turn off unnecessary radios (WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC etc), disable push notifications unless you really need them, and so on.
You can look in Settings/Battery to see what has been using the most battery and remove any apps that are draining excessive power that you don't need. Often there will be alternative apps that do the same thing and are more efficient.
For more detailed information on what is using the battery and CPU there are useful apps like GSam Battery Monitor.
