Any recommendations for an antivirus for a school computer?

My teacher has asked me to get an antivirus for our school computer. I wanted to get MalwareBytes, but that requires an internet connection while installing. Any recommendation for a free one that works offline? Our school computers never get internet, I can't even get Windows Defender because of that....

I just need a simple anti virus that detects malware coming from USB Flash Drives, and also removes it. Because USB is the only way something can enter it...

This is how I find viruses on USB flash-drives from our school computers. Basically there should just not be any EXE files on these flash-drives. I use a Macbook usually, but a Linux OS computer would work just as well I think, no internet required. Just have to set it to show hidden files, prefixed with a full-stop ".".

A school computer, and it says in Chinese..."This copy of Windows is not genuine" :thumbsupdroid: ...along with the black wallpaper.

Install ubuntu! :D

It will never get viruses! XD
I really would love to do that, but I don't have the privileges to... All I'm allowed to do is install an antivirus...

But Ubuntu is powerful!

I do that, but I wont always be using the computer, other people use it too... I think I can simply tell everyone to do that :D

I think activation doesn't make much difference when there is no internet right? Our school computers say they are "Activated", but I still won't get updates. Microsoft Office 360 is however not activated, and I can't create any PPT/Word/Spreadsheet files on it...

BTW, forgot to mention that the computer is already infected. I think it's a worm or trojan... Gonna use Microsoft Safety Scanner, Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool, MalewareBytes ADWCleaner and RKill to get it out..! I think these are too many tools, but I don't know which one will make it....

But these are not antiviruses, just malware removal tools. They don't stop malware from entering...

If that computer is already infected, try using Windows Defender Offline:

On a different computer, with online access, you need to download the indicated exe file (32 or 64 bit), and run it to create an iso file you then burn to disc or USB flash stick. Then restart that infected computer using the bootable disc or flash drive you just created to run the utility.

And since that computer isn't able to receive any Window updates and patches, look into using something like AutoPatcher. Using it you need to do everything elsewhere on an Internet connected PC of course to update it periodically, but it will allow you to at least keep that offline PC relatively current. It does download everything from MS Update servers so it'll include things like Microsoft Security Essentials and/or Windows Defender updates too (you didn't mention if this is a Win 7, 8, or 10 system).

Perfect! This is just what I wanted!
