Any Task killer or cleaner that will work with FROYO?

Okay, it seem like after the 2.2 update my "system penal lite" just doesn't work right anymore. everything is in active even its not. even i killed it and still coming back up.

so does anyone have task killer or some other program that can close out all inactive apps and keep it close that work with FROYO?
after the update, battery drain faster because all the apps was running at the background. lots of them!!

Newb question... if I have Advanced Task Killer installed how do I uninstall it (or any app for that matter)? Just drop the icon on the remove button? What program can I then use to see what is running in the background (not necessarily kill, just look).
 
Try powering off your EVO and turn it back on.When I was checking my Battery usage today it was showing andriod using 94% of my battery.After powering off and on Andriod is now at 21%

Just go to the market and unistall from there.To see all the apps u have running u can go to Settings/Applications/Manage Application/Running.

yeah but bounch junk apps still runing....on menu and running apps, i stoped it but some of them dont even shows on there.

my question was is there a task killer or cleaner work with FROYO.
thank for the help tho....i uninstalled the system penal already...see wassup.

On topic, I've been seeing issues with ATK and SystemPanel with FroYo (I use both). They're minor, such as tasks not being killed.

Off topic, wildly debated whether to use one or not. I personally use them because I notice that my phone gets choppy if I let the OS try to manage stuff. Nothing ever gets unloaded from memory. You definitely need to know which tasks need to get ignored when killing.

Yes, because diving through a menu that far to kill some trash apps (why in God's name does Sprint Navigation and Sprint TV need to be running?!) is convenient..

I'm still using Advanced Task Killer, and it seems to be working when I want to manually kill apps (memory usage goes way down when I do kill things - so in theory it's working). However, auto-kill doesn't seem to work right any longer. No big deal - I just need to keep on top of it more.

I will say Froyo is much much better about memory management, though - I can have many, many more apps open at a time and still have 100+MB of RAM free. That was unheard of on 2.1.

you are so right, i don't trust the phone to just kill it.
i try not to use it but it drain battery fast with all those junk apps when i'm not even opening. but anyway....just wait for those developer to update their apps like system penal lite and ATK.

hopfully soon.

I have not had this experience. I'm on EVO #3. The previous 2 I used ATK and was getting 30-40 hrs between charges. When I got EVO #3 last week I was sick of reloading all my info/apps etc over and over again so I loaded the basics and ran w/o ATK. Its been a week now without ATK and the battery life is abyssmal. Maybe I get 7 hrs and that's w/o all the apps etc that I normally have on my phone. Now ATK doesn't seem to work properly with Froyo so I'm charging constantly.

My Evo had terrible battery life.. Barely 8 hours with little use.
After experimenting by manually killing apps that always start (but I don't use), I ended up installing Startup Cleaner, which kills apps only after a cold boot.

Now, my battery graph remains nearly flat (Juiceplotter) when idle, and only drops when I forget to back out of certain apps (Instead of just hitting the Home key), and I get over 24 hours of use.

The apps in it's kill list are:
Amazon MP3
FM Radio
Facebook
Nascar
Qik
Sprint Football
Sprint Navigation.

These don't restart by themselves, and only some of them may be at fault, but I leave them disabled since I don't use them anyway.
 
Look for Froyo Task Killer in the Market. It's not a task kill but will show whats running and link it to the built it task killer. Works great for some of those apps I need to close. But like mentioned, using a task killer will consume more battery. I haven't touched one since I went to Froyo.
