Any way to back up the phone & SD card to the computer?

I just traded in a Galaxy S4 for a Turbo 2. When I plugged the GS4 into the computer, I could see all the files on both the phone and the card, and was able to "select all" and copy those to a folder on my computer. (Doing so saved my butt more than a few times!)

But when I plug the DT2 into the computer, I only see a handful of files on both the phone and card. For example, I know I've got Word documents stored on the SD card in a "Documents" folder, but I don't see either the documents or the folder on the card.

As a result, I can't back the entire phone and card up to the computer.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there some setting I'm missing?

I use Android File Transfer with my MacBook Pro, and can see, what I believe, is all my files, media, etc on both the internal storage and my SD card. I have a few documents in the Docs folder and they are there.

Thanks. But I neglected to say that I'm on Windows 10.

If your documents are on the SD, try the SD with the computer directly. Most laptops and many desktop PCs have an SD reader, or USB card readers are inexpensive anyway.

With the Turbo 2 connected by USB to Windows ...

On the Turbo 2 home screen swipe down notification bar and make sure Connected as a media device is shown.

If it isn't, click on the notification and select ...
Media device (MTP)

Good thought. I'll give that a try. Thanks.

Thanks, Thom -- I'd already found that setting and made sure it was a media device.
