New to android and miss this from the iphone. Im sure it can be done but cant figure it out with my stock S3. Can I have different sounds for txt/mms/sms and emails?
Default phone ringtone is set at: Settings / Sound / Device Ringtone.
You can also set ringtones for individual contacts: Apps / Contacts / Open contact to change / scroll to Ringtones and tap arrow on right / Select Ringtones
Default txt/mms/sms notification is set at: Settings / Sound / Default notifications
You cannot specify different note tones to differentiate txt from MMS from SMS
You cannot specify different note tones for individual contacts with the default messaging app. But you can with in store apps such as Handcent SMS and others. I've used Handcent for 2 years and love it. Very customizable. Set backgrounds, style, notifications, etc for individual conversations.
I know you already figured it out but for future reference, every app that has a notification, the sound is usually changed within the app itself. For instance, say you downloaded a task manager/to do list, the notification sound is changed within the actual app and not within the phones system settings.
He means for each of his accounts. Not each sender he receives from. Its the standard Gmail notification settings. You have to go into an account to get to them
