Help Any way to get music controls on lock screen?

Coming from an HTC. Using either the stock player or Doubletwist on my old DInc, I would get the player controls on the lock screen (without having to unlock the phone).

Doesn't seem to be available on the S3. I have to unlock or open the notification area and click on the music app to open it.

Any way to add basic music player controls to the lock screen?

You can change one of the shortcuts to your music app.... or get an app like WidgetLocker to replace the lock screen. WidgetLocker lets you put any widget or shortcut on the lock screen.

It isn't a big deal to drop the notification bar. It sounds like you can do that. On my lock screen I just drop the notification bar, it shows which song is playing and the options to skip forward, backward, and pause. Works fine for me

PowerAmp is a great player, and has lock screen control options that work fine on the S3.

PowerAmp does have a lock screen with a lot of options on it, but I thought ICS has its own basic set of controls set automatically? I've seen it for TuneIn, Beyondpod, and PowerAmp. I had to overide it in Poweramp to get the regular one.

I have been searching for lockscreen music controls for some time now, and with very little success....well functionality i should say. May have more to do with the phone than the apps or controls though.

Here is my situation, I have an LG Connect 4G. The Stock LG music player and the Google Music player both seem to behave pretty much exactly the same. If I have music playing already when i lock the phone then there will be a pull down music control, however upon stopping the music, once the screen sleeps again the music controls will dissappear. So I tried some Magic Locker screens which had permanent music controls. However they displayed similar behavior, specifically the music controls did nothing until you unlock the phone and start the music with whichever player desired, doesn't matter which player, it is the same for Pandora, Songza, Spotify, and iHeart Radio. The lockscreen controls pretty much work with whichever music player was used last. Unfortunately the lockscreen music controls only work if music was alreading play, or has been played very recently, by recently i would in the past 15 minutes, otherwise the music controls again stop functioning. It is the same for Go Locker music controls. And i downloaded Winamp because I heard it had lock screen music controls but it did not have any for my phone....

Now I guess i should have mentioned earlier that this is a secured lockscreen, with pattern lock.

Now Magic Locker would allow me to pull down the notification bar and use the controls there, but I did not like Magic Locker because if i allowed it instant access to shortcuts it circimvented security, and possibly it was the same for notifications, though i didn't try that. Albeit no other lock screen apps allow instant access to shortcuts, but i thought it was a major design flaw to have it bypass security lock even though the home shortcut had security enabled.

To recap, I am looking for a lockscreen music control that
A) Works consitantly without having to unlock the phone to intiate music
......well really that's it.

I do love my current lock screen, if only the Go Locker music controls would consistantly stay in touch with the most recent music player and play from the last stop even hours later.

Also the back button on the Go Lockr music controls actually goes forward and so does the go forward button, so they both skip the music forward.

Of course the Go Locker settings say next to music controls that it is a (TEST FUNCTION, may not be compatable with all lock screens and music apps)
It is also a universal music widget and so far has worked with most my lock screens regardless of what type of unlock mechanism they use or how many shortcuts there are. But it has both pros and cons, pros: it allows me to control my music, cons: it is a bit of an eye sore when you have a nice lock screen.

The default lock screen however has 2 screens, in which the second screen has permanently displayed music controls.

Anywho, if the music controls could start the music back no matter how much time had passed, the it would be worth having the widget on, as it is now, I am thinking of ditching the widget since it is of limited use and visual unappealing.

iPhone headset does allow for some control of the player. The on/off button will start and stop music, but it too suffers from having to initiate the music through the app first. Also if you double press the button by mistake it then shuffles the music playlist. Also the volume buttons do not function, and the microphone does not function either and you actually have to unplug them when you get an incoming call, otherwise the caller won't hear you speaking.

I dont have those issues with go locker, maybe it's the theme? I use pure and sira

Possibly, but I get the feeling it's the phone since it pretty much does it with any and all music apps and various music controls.

I will try Pure and Sira and see if i get the same result.

I use Double Twist, and initially it didn't place the controls on the lock screen of the S3 (worked fine on my old DX). I suppose somewhere along the way an update must have come out because for at least 2 or 3 weeks it is consistently on the lock screen.
