Any way to get "text" option not to show in contacts?

I have a G1 running Android 1.6 but would imagine this a universal question. Is there any way to hide the "text" option for a contacts phone number? There are certain people who I will just never text and would like to remove that option either for the individual contact for even from the whole address book. Its much quicker and easier to initiate a text from either messaging or Chomp.
