Anybody here tinker with Node-Red?

I've got a Raspberry Pi I'm trying to program to open our driveway gate. Someone on the Pi forum recommended Node-Red, but it looks way more complex than learning Python. Checking to see if anyone's gotten a handle on it...

Looks like a drag and drop, connect the blocks type of approach to programming, with no code. From past experience these things are great for simple applications, and learning basic logic, but they don't scale up that well. And as you've found, they're sometimes not even that simple to learn.
I'd personally recommend understanding how to code. You'll be able to do a lot more in the long run.

"...with no code". Seems too good to be true, cause when I look at it, it's pretty much incomprehensible right now. Learning Python seems easier...
