Anybody into making maps?

I'm looking for a program that I can upload waypoint files into and create maps from those. Google maps offers very little flexibility, and doesn't allow you to save the map as a JPEG.

I aim to create some maps and save them at around 8000x8000 so I can do some more final editing in Illustrator and/or other programs. The maps will then be printed for informational purposes.

Any suggestions?

You can POSSIBLY get a slightly smaller resolution image and then expand it using a Topaz Labs program meant for making smaller pictures bigger while maintaining clarity. But I think you gotta pay a bit for those add-ons for Photoshop.
