anyone else find apple support forum people to be mean?

Apple's incredible marketing excels at convincing their users that they're using the superior product and that the other, lesser users (us) are not worth their time, other than we need to be educated. For all I know, Apple stuff really is superior, but I don't like their snotty attitude and therefore avoid them.

if you are talking about those regulars guys hanging on the support forums, most of them are fanboys - and you know what that means. there is nothing that apple can do wrong. only you do it wrong, either you dont know how to use it or it must be a rare hardware failure.

for example, it is pretty clear that iphone6+ suffers from lacking ram. even some fanboys say it now while others still say that people who are asking more ram, doesnt understand how ios works. apple said 1gb ram is enough, it is enough and nothing can be done to change those fanboys minds. when apple release their next iphone with more ram, those same fanboys will praise it. trust me! and it goes back to the idea about how well the glorious ios is optimized and how little it needs ram. ehm? is it? my ipad air2 has 2gb ram and almost 1gb is already in use when i boot it. when launching PSTouch, some games etc, almost all of the ram is in use. and now the rumours say that the new splitview (two windows) is only provided for air2 because only it has 2gb ram.

im actually hoping that apple will release 6s model with more ram just for showing how those fanboys change their minds like weather vanes... it doesnt matter if it is a software related thing like a multiwindow feature or a hardware thing like more ram, they always change theirs minds when apple actually provide those new things irl. think about the multiwindow, years ago when samsung offered it, it was something that you will never going to use or need and apple wont do such a stupid thing that only stupid companies - like samsung - offer. now the multiwindow feature is a part of coming ios9 and it will be an amazing thing. did i say some (=fanboys) are like weather vanes?

if you say something bad about the product made by apple on their forums, you are the one who is only using it wrong ;-) "and if you are not happy with iDevice, you should have bought Android then!" (that is the another sentence you see quite often. even more than "safari is snappier")

iPhone users tend to be rude in general in my experience - although perhaps that's just my bias LOL. I wouldn't know much about their support forums because I do not own any apple products myself. I mean all the power to you if you use an iPhone I guess, I just dislike how others have been elitist towards me about using android products in the past :/

Everytime I've experienced an issue with Straight Talk shutting off my data or MMS, my iphone owning friends will chime in "You should have bought an iPhone".

A very interesting phenomenon that I notice: when an iPhone user who recently swapped to Android posts on A/F, they often start with a long list of complaints about Android… with a question buried way, way down near the end. (along the lines of why is Android so bad that it can’t even do things exactly the way my iPhone did). AND, while there no logical reason that should bother me, it does bother me. The emotional (not logical) side of human nature is that when we hear someone start to whine about something we really like, we tend to get defensive or irritated. And that tends to jack up the ratio of snarkyness to helpfulness in my reply.

If the op knew the state of mind their whining would put me (and other potential responders) in, and their goal is to get help, then there’s no logical reason whatsoever they would ever start out a post whining about Android... before they even get to a question. But it’s not particularly about logic in either case (the poster or the responder)… we feel what we feel and our feelings often bleed through into our posts a lot stronger than we intend.

I didn’t read them closely, but I think the two posts linked in op may have had the reverse situation - that there was some small but detectable degree of whining about iPhone in the question which may have helped to bring out the snarkiness in the responders. Then again, maybe they're just jerks ;-)

Sometimes the list of complaints and whining about is not an Android problem at all, it's things specific to their Verizon Droid Turbo or whatever, like carrier bloat.

If I do see such posts I usually just ignore them. Sometimes it might be a device I've never seen, like Verizon Droid, or they are just jerks, in which case I sometimes don't like feeding trolls. :D

I'm sometimes happy to wade in if it's a cheapo China phone they're bitching about, that they replaced their iPhone with. That can be useful for the general readership I think.
