Anyone else JUST get charged?

I looked at my credit card account online about an hour ago and DRI*Samsung had hit it for $587.16! Well, that sent me down the rabbit hole between my financial institution and Samsung.

Turns out that I pre-ordered the Note 8 on August 25th, received it September 7th, returned my Note 5 for trade-in, and the charge for the balance JUST NOW posted! Two months after delivery!

I thought I'd let you know - so if you get a surprise charge on your card, you can bet it's Samsung just now getting around to hitting you up for the Note 8.

I checked my credit card account and I was charged $541.60 on August 24th, the day I pre-ordered my Note 8 from Samsung. I wonder why they waited so long to charge you?

I don't know - I went back to my Aug/Sep statement and, sure enough, DRI*Samsung only hit the card for the Gear360 I ordered with it. Maybe they were holding back on the charge to make sure that I sent in a Note 5 that was actually in the condition I said it was in. Once inspected and approved, they signed off on the trade-in discount. I guess with millions of Note8s flying out the door, the beancounters got a little behind!

Here's my theory, Chief. Because of your long-standing public support for the Samsung Note, Samsung had decided not to charge you for the Note 8 (after the trade-in of your Note 5). However, your recent criticism of the Alcantara case angered a few Samsung executives who also raise Alcantaras and the decision to give you a free Note 8 was reversed.;)

Taxes must be less here. I was only charged $525.19...on 09/5 when mine finally shipped. :p
I live in California and I think our sales tax rate is higher than many states. What I don't understand is why my credit card was charged when I placed my order with Samsung, you weren't charged until your Note 8 was shipped, and The Chief wasn't charged until just recently. It may be because I ordered an unlocked phone and, as I recall, you ordered a carrier version. That still doesn't explain why The Chief wasn't billed for 2-1/2 months, unless my theory about him upsetting Alcantara breeders is correct.

Nope. I ordered carrier free straight from Samsung on Aug. 24. Initially I saw a charge that day but it was a temporary charge and didn't actually post to my account until the 5th of Sept. Possibly it has something to do with the banks and card companies themselves. Such a large charge could trigger their fraud alert programs and delay their approval even though the cardholder has the funds on the card. Mind you I am just guessing.

Bought mine outright and they billed as such taking into account my Note 5 trade, they stated they would deduct any difference if my phone was not as described for trade in, well it was/is in immaculate condition and I wrapped that sucker in bubble wrap 3 layers thick then padded the box with air pillow shipping material.to make sure it remained that way.

The weird part is the day I bought it, they charged the exact amount as stated then the next day charged another $0.14. No idea what that's all about.
