Anyone else notice skype lite is no longer available?...

Seems kind of fishy for them to just remove it all together since Skype still haven't gotten their act together and come out with an official app for android. I contacted them and got this response...

"Please note that the Skype Lite application is no longer available for
download from our site. We?ve chosen to withdraw Skype Lite because we
want to offer our new customers an improved mobile experience ? much
like the version that has proved so popular on the iPhone, and is now
available on Symbian phones. Our focus is on providing a rich user
experience that allows you to enjoy free Skype-to-Skype and low cost
calls as easily on the move as you do at your desktop.

We felt that Skype Lite does not offer the best possible Skype
experience."

Dunno if this means they are going to be coming out with an official version soon (especially since verizon is coming out with a skype android app soon) but I figured I would ask if anyone else had information on Skype or VOIP in general.

Hi I've seen that as well.
They are gonna publish Skype To Go for android soon!
I'm not sure if this only for the US. I hope its for the rest of the world as well :)

It's too bad they are gonna leave out their paying customers that have t-mo as their carrier (like me)

Seems like if they have the ability to come out with an android application (soon for Verizon) they should take care of all of their PAYING customers, not just the customers on verizon...

I'm sure if Verizon has it we can get the apk and manually install it. Shouldn't be a problem.

I'm glad they pulled it from the Market. It sucked. Had one of the lowest ratings on the market. Gave Android a bad name.
